Calendula officinalis
We grow the Erfruter variety for its big ole' blooms and high resin content, but little did we know how impressive it would be as a field crop. It's a high yielding bloom for us - actively demonstrating its vigor and largesse. I love how these ways correlate to calendulas healing properties as well! It's a big presence in my apothecary and easily makes the top ten list of crucial-herbs-to-keep-stocked. Calendulas ability to nourish and repair tissue, its strength in the hot field and its beauty are so deeply appreciated.
